Fishing on the Zambezi

If wild fishing is more up your street, fishing on the Zambezi river is a truly unique experience and can be enjoyed throughout the year, but best between April and November. A number of lodges offer fishing rods and basic tackle so that you can be at one with the water and the aquatic life within it. Bream, tigerfish and vundu are all common catches when fishing along the Zambezi.

There are also fishing competitions to get involved in on the Kafue River, a tributary of the Zambezi River, in Kafue National Park.

Lower Zambezi National Park

Lower Zambezi is still relatively undeveloped, with it’s beauty lying in its wilderness state. The diversity of animals is not as wide as the other big parks, but the opportunities to get close to game, wandering in and out of the Zambezi channels are spectacular.
